Wisdom Teeth: When to Ask for a Dental Review
Wisdom teeth do not always need removal, but they should be checked if symptoms appear.
Common warning signs
Pain at the back of the mouth, gum swelling, difficulty opening, bad taste, or repeated food trapping may suggest a wisdom tooth problem.
Not every wisdom tooth is the same
Some wisdom teeth erupt fully and are easy to clean. Others remain partly covered by gum or bone, creating areas where bacteria collect.
Plan before it becomes urgent
A dental review and X-ray can show whether monitoring, cleaning advice, or removal is the safer option. Early planning can reduce the chance of emergency pain.
